Joseph kept another family with Annie Taylor, daughter of Thomas Taylor and widow of Edwin Nadin. Reports are that Joseph did not marry Annie because he was Catholic and could not obtain a divorce. However, even though they did not legally marry, Joseph used Annie’s deceased husband’s last name (Nadin) as an aka (Joseph Nadin) during his life at the same time as he was living as Joseph Coupe. Also, Annie (Taylor) Nadin and Joseph Coupe lived as if they were married and had five children together. Although the family did not like to talk about it, it appears from census records that he lived with both Isabella and Annie.
All five of Annie (Taylor) Nadin and Joseph Coupe's children were illegitimate and none of their births were registered. Their firstborn child went by the name Joseph Coupe. He immigrated to the US. The rest of the Coupe children did not discuss their illegitimacy. Instead, they went by the last name Nadin their entire lives. That was the surname they handed down to their children; however, they all acknowledged Joseph Coupe as their real father and DNA evidence proves that link.
Also went by the name of Joseph Coupe - went to America.
