There is also a marriage on 6 Nov 1815 for James Prestwich - (X), Weaver, Mill bottom to Mary May - (X), Spinster, Mill bottom at St Mary, Oldham.
Possible thatthis was an earlier marriage for James at the age of 17 but unlikely. James was not noted as a widower at the marriage in 1822 hence this latter marrige is beigved to be the only marriage for this James. The other James who married Mary May has not been located on any census record.

Dates are inconsitent and it is unclear as to which might be correct.
Placing this John as son of Joseph and Hannah results from looking at Melanie's tree 7770
Looking at Harrison Tree John is the son of Joshua (1690-1730) and Elizabeth Heaton (1675- )
Basis for the children is unclear - they have been taken from Melanie 7770's tree. There are identified inconsitencies elsewhere on the tree!
