Rehder John William Louis [Male] b. 1808 Germany - d. NOV 1856 Adelaide SA

John William Louis Rehder, and his wife Caroline, arrived in Australia ex Bremen, Germany on teh sailing ship 'Leontine'on Augsust 1st 1848. Their first eight children were born in Germany and also made teh voyage. Four other children were born in S.A. Caroline outlived nearly all of her family to die at the age of over 93 years in teh year 1910.

Harrison John [Male] b. 6 NOV 1808 Surrey, England - d. 27 JAN 1866 Burra, SA

John and Elizabeth Harrison were married in England in May 1835, and the following year sailed to South Australia on the "Coromandel" arriving in the new Colony on January 12th 1837. Their first son John Coromandel Harrison was born at sea about 3 weeks before the ship arrievd in South Australia. The next 11 children (should not this be 12 children?) were born in S.A.

Murphy Arthur [Male] b. 29 JUL 1793 Wexford, Ireland - d. 18 OCT 1869 Ballarat, Victoria, Australia

Arthur Murphy, born in Wexford, Ireland in 1793, migrated to Portugal Cove, St John's, Newfoundland in 1814 aboard the 'Snow Orphans', where he worked as a carpenter in the fisheries business for Samuel Codner. It is thought that Arthur could have been from Davidstown, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

He married Sarah Hibbs on 7 December 1820. (Some records suggest Sarah Hibby and a marriage in 1821).
They had five children, two of whom (Robert & John) emigrated to Australia with their father in the 1850s gold rush, some years after Sarah died in 1839. It is thought that John either went first or followed his father.

Arthur arrived in Gelong, Victoria on March 17th 1853 (St Patrick's Day) on the small sailing ship 'Sybil'.
The son Robert married Ellen Murphy (no known relation) in the "Scotch" Church, Geelong on April 18th 1853, and it seems likley that Ellen also arrived on the 'Sybil'. Both Arthur and son Robert were carpenters.

One of the daughters (Pamelia) married George Harris in 1847 and subsequently moved to the USA; she had 10 children. Jemima married W R Rankine on 27 August 1856 and had at least one child. Less is known about Eliza.
