The Henry Duxbury in Oakham and Rutland is my possible 4greats-grandfather. Just to refresh, my 3greats was Richard of Wigston near Leicester. I have established that Henry did have a son called Richard who, although not mentioned by name in the will, signed for bequests: the papers are in the Northants Record Office.

It's strange that he was not mentioned by name in the will as he would have been the oldest son and two other sons were mentioned. Richard, however, would have been from Henry's first marriage which might be an explanation. I'm at a brick wall on this one except for one idea which is that Henry's brother-in-law Thomas Hallowell did leave some property in Olney to at least 2 of the sons of Henry and I thought if I could see the will Richard just might be mentioned.
Thomas H. seemed to flit between Yorkshire and Bucks. His will is not registered in Yorks. so I assume was proved in Bucks

Black marble grave. In Loving Memory of JOHN YATES who died March 27th 1956 aged 89 years. Also SARAH ALICE the beloved wife of John Yates died January 14th 1930 aged 63 years. "Weep not for me, nor sorrow take, but love my children for my sake."
Also HARRY CAMPBELL YATES their beloved son died August 10th 1897 aged 3 months.
"God takes our loved one from our home, but never from our hearts."
