Manitoba 1912-1945. Served in France as Medical Officer with 226th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force with rank of Captain. Retired to Winnipeg in1946.

First family member to leave England from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, in 1884 to homestead at Elkhorn, Manitoba, Canada. He was followed by other menbers of the family in 1887, including his cousin Frances, whom he married in 1888.
