In the 1841 Census, Ann (16) is living in Rainford as a servant to her Aunty & Uncle, Charles & Alice (ne้ Birch) Ashurst & their 9 children at the New Mill. Charles was a Miller.
Ann made a " mark" on her daughter's (Alice) birth certificate in 1850.
In the 1851 Census of West Derby, Ann Duxbury ne้ Cunliffe 26, is living with her husband Thomas Duxbury,24, & their daughter Alice Duxbury, 5 mths at Dey's Lane, West Derby, Lancs.

Thomas Duxberry (batchelor, farmer) & Ann Cunliffe (spinster) were married on the 18th December, 1849 at St Helens, Lancashire. They were both above age. They both signed. Their witnesses were Robert Hunt & Alice Hunt (made marks) His father was Thomas Duxberry, farmer. Her father was James Cunliffe, Timber Merchant. They gave the address of "Sutton" when they were married.
In the 1851 Census of West Derby, Thomas Duxbury, 24, Farm Deem's Man b. Rainhill, Lancs & his wife Ann Duxbury ne้ Cunliffe, 26, b. Rainford, Lancs are living in Dey's Lane, West Derby with their daughter Alice Duxbury, 5 mths, b. West Derby, Lancs.

In the 1841 Census of Rainhill, Thomas Duxbury, Farmer, is living at Warrington Road, Rainhill with his children: Mary, 20; John 15; * Thomas 14; Peter 12; Ann 11; Elizabeth 6; Alice 5; William 4; Isaac 3. Elizabeth his wife must have died sometime after the birth of Isaac. So Elizabeth must have died between 1838 & 1841. They were all born in Lancashire. (I am descended through Thomas & his wife, Ann Cunliffe).
